A portrait-and-story series campaign for Ohio University's medical school — built the same way I'd build a journalistic feature. I developed the concept, conducted and edited the interviews, location-scouted each portrait, and directed each session to draw out something true rather than posed.

Lifestyle and adventure imagery developed for Patagonia's sportswear and kids' lines — shot on location in Southeast Alaska and Northern California. I scouted locations, developed the concept, and directed talent to capture the kind of unguarded, in-the-moment imagery the brand is built on.

WHY AN EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Every shoot I do starts the same way a story does — with listening. Who are these people? What do they care about? What does their world actually look like? The images follow from that.
Twelve years on assignment — in communities I didn't know, with subjects who had every reason not to trust a camera — trained me to build rapport fast, read a scene quickly, and find the frame before the moment disappears. That instinct doesn't switch off when the client changes.
The result is images that feel found rather than fabricated. That's increasingly hard to fake — and it's exactly what brands who care about authenticity are paying for.
